Camp Families

"Camp Clover was Caroline’s very first camp, and she was accepted exactly as she is. Seeing her included, embraced and beginning to build friendships brought us so much hope and joy." -Tindell family

"Camp Clover has made such a positive impact in our family’s life. We have always been so nervous for our very medically complex son with Cerebral Palsy to be away from us. We aren’t helicopter parents (I swear!), but it was a medical mistake, when he was one day old, that caused his brain damage and consequent cerebral palsy. So you can see why we are paranoid! He THRIVED at camp clover! He got to socialize with other kids and so many caring camp counselors. We saw countless improvements with his ability to communicate with his AAC device, his effort to use his hands to reach for toys/sensory bins and just his overall happiness, as he got to have so much fun with his fellow campers. So that is all he gained from camp, this is what I gained from camp: a tribe of amazing parents who are willing to walk beside me in this challenging hike of special needs parenting. The confidence to go and do some normal human things while he was at camp, such as get a pedicure, go to the gym etc and not feel constant panic. I am so happy to say that Lane will be back next summer for camp and we will stay in contact with all the wonderful friends we have made through camp clover!!!" -Garcia family

"I had meet the teacher this morning and I just wanted to say thank y’all for sharing strategies with her! Y’all truly have been such a blessing and a huge resource to me! Y’all’s dedication in helping Reid thrive is HUGE to us!! I truly can’t put into words how much Camp Clover and y’all’s investment in him has meant to us! He has matured so much this summer and walked into his new class and met his new teachers with such confidence and excitement (and so did I!) Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!  What y’all are doing is a precious gift! ❤️"

"My son joined Camp Clover during its inception when he was less than one year old. What Jennifer and Lauren have been able to put together is nothing short of amazing. As a parent of a child with a disability, it is already challenging to find reliable childcare, in addition to convenient therapy and socialization resources for our kids. Camp Clover provided all of this for our family in a safe, caring and inclusive environment. I cannot say enough good things about this camp and the people that run it. I can leave knowing that my child is well cared for and is building on important skills to help him gain further independence."

Volunteers

"Children with special needs have always held a special place in my heart, so when my son asked if I’d like to volunteer with Camp Clover, I jumped on it. I thought, surely I might be able to offer something; whether through teaching, helping the kids grow or just being able to give these special kids love…. Easy enough. Well, in as little as one day, I realized I’d fooled myself! Turns out I was the one learning, growing and being loved!! These kids have the purest hearts that know nothing but love and kindness! I left every day so full of a joy that would sustain me until the next time I’d see them to get a refill. I witnessed the love of the therapists as well, who selflessly gave of their time and talents and I was amazed at their skill. They really knew what these kids needed and almost instantly, I could see the change they made in them!! It was one of the most remarkable times I have ever witnessed and I’m just so grateful I got to be there to experience it all! Thanks Camp Clover for letting these kids make a difference in my life!!! Can’t wait until next year!" -Christi

"This summer I had an opportunity to volunteer at Camp Clover, and I can easily say that it was the best summer I’ve ever had! To be able to walk alongside our campers as they navigated their different therapy classes was such a blessing! The people that were there to work with the kiddos were absolutely amazing. One of the things that stuck with me was when parents of one of the campers said that they had NEVER left their son. To be able to trust the therapists and volunteers to be with their son, who was in a wheelchair, was something that brought me to tears. There were other campers that were having this experience for the first time and their reactions were so fun to see! To see these kids open up more every time we met was a true testament to just how amazing this camp is. I think it’s safe to say that I will be volunteering every year!" -Jen

Providers

"Camp Clover is incredible! I’m so thankful to be part of such a special place where every child feels welcome. This camp provides a truly unique way to support kids in their development—it’s inspiring to watch how hard they work and how much progress they make. What stands out most to me is the incredible teamwork among providers and volunteers; everyone comes together to figure out what works best for each individual child. The joy at camp is contagious, and I feel so grateful to use my skills to help support these amazing kids!" - Cara, speech therapist

"I love Camp Clover! I’m unaware of any other DFW area camp that provides this many therapy services in one spot, all while focusing on friendships and inclusivity. I’ve had several camper families comment on how they never thought their kids would get the summer camp experience and it fills me with pride that we can provide that. My heart just explodes at the sense of belonging as they walk in and are greeted with so many smiles and hugs from other campers, providers, and volunteers alike. I also take a lot of pride in the fact that our rotations just feel like play, and the campers really don’t even realize all the goals they are hitting. They just get to come be a kid and have a blast in the summer and I love getting to be a part of the team that gives that to them." -Lauren, speech therapist
